Department Member, Center for the Study of Interdisciplinarity
About
Since January 2005 Holbrook has served as Research Assistant Professor within the Department of Philosophy and Religion Studies at UNT. He has also held teaching positions in philosophy at Emory University and at Georgia State University, both located in Atlanta, Georgia.
Holbrook has interdisciplinary teaching experience as a member of the faculty of the 2007 Texas Governor's School and as co-instructor of a field course in socioecological conservation in the Cape Horn Biosphere Reserve in southernmost sub-Antarctic Chile.
Holbrook's current research focuses on interdisciplinarity, peer review, and the relationship between science, technology, and society. He is especially interested in the incorporation of societal impacts considerations into the peer review process of publicly supported funding agencies (e.g., NSF's "Broader Impacts" Merit Review Criterion).
